As a cat owner, it’s your duty to keep them hydrated and have them drink more water. Various methods exist to make your cat drink more water.
1. USE FLAVOURED WATER
Mix a bit of tuna juice or onion and garlic-free cat-safe chicken broth with your cat’s water. This adds taste and can make them drink more, but do it occasionally to avoid them refusing plain water.
2. USE ICE CUBES
Drop a few ice cubes into your cat’s water bowl. It can make drinking more attractive and refreshing. Cats are curious, so they might be drawn to the bowl or fountain.
3. USE MULTIPLE BOWLS
Place water bowls in different spots at home. This helps your cat access water easily. Useful in multi-story homes, as cats might not want to use stairs. Different bowls at different times can make them more comfortable.
4. SET UP A WATER FOUNTAIN
Get an electric water fountain for your cat. Cats often like running water, and the fountain’s sound can attract them. Choose a cat-specific fountain. Stainless steel or ceramic options are better than plastic, as they last longer and don’t gather bacteria.
